FOUND was lucky enough to have the opportunity to interview for the Coast, Halifax’s weekly newspaper, in this weeks issue (May 26, 2016). This provides FOUND with the great opportunity of making connections with farmers, farmers’ markets, and local residents with urban edibles growing in their backyard. FOUND is dedicated to helping reduce food waste in Nova Scotia by harvesting forgotten food in fields as well as ‘imperfect’ food left behind.
Stay in touch with FOUND to become involved with Urban Harvest Days, where we organize volunteers to harvest urban edibles within the Halifax peninsula. If you have a tree or garden not being harvested in your yard, register it here, to help bring ‘forgotten’ and ‘imperfect’ food to those who need it most.
