You are cordially invited to be part of the ProFOUND Food Reads Book Club! We’re planning on digesting one food-related book every two months, gathering at the oh-so-cozy Blue Apples Arts and Wellness Centre to discuss, share stories, and create new friendships.
Our first book will be Michael Pollan‘s In Defense of Food, which spent six weeks as the number one book on the New York Times Non-Fiction Best Selling List! This book is available in several mediums from the Halifax Public Libraries (book, ebook, book on CD, and downloadable audio).
“A tough, witty, cogent rebuttal to the proposition that food can be reduced to its nutritional components without the loss of something essential … [a] lively, invaluable book.”
– Janet Maslin, The New York Times
“Written with Pollan’s customary bite, ringing clarity and brilliance at connecting the dots.”
– David Laskin, The Seattle Times
First ProFOUND Food Reads meeting:
Wednesday, November 30, 2016
Blue Apples Art and Wellness Centre, 5228 Blowers Street, Halifax
Don’t want to commit to a full year? Feel free to join in for certain books and skip the others. Our first meeting will also include a vote on what book we’ll be diving into next, so stay tuned for more details as they unfold!
Plan on joining us? Everyone is welcome! You can RSVP on Facebook by clicking here.
We hope to see you there!
