Volunteer with FOUND

FOUND is only possible due to the many volunteers who commit their free time to reducing food waste in Nova Scotia.

Start a Community Harvest Hub

We can only be in so many places at one time!

We currently have volunteer groups operating in Halifax Regional Municipality, Kings County, and Cumberland County. If you are enthusiastic about our mission and want to start and lead a FOUND Community Harvest Hub in your neck of Nova Scotia, please get in touch with us to learn more. Let’s get this movement province-wide!

Become a Harvest Volunteer

FOUND is always looking to add to our volunteer callout list to help us harvest the bounty around us. We will send out periodic email notifications when we are alerted to a harvest opportunity and you simply RSVP if you’re interested. Every Harvest Volunteer will take home a part of the bounty collected. (Please note that Harvest Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from the harvest site.)

Please sign up via the newsletter form on our website homepage.

Become a Core Member

Our volunteer Core Members are the bread and butter of FOUND. Core Members commit 5-10 hours of volunteer time per week, including monthly team meetings (currently being held online). If there is a project you want to partner on that is in line with our mission, email us at info@foundns.com. FOUND strongly believes in skill-building, and our goal with volunteers is to provide an environment in which existing skills are utilized and valued but also where new skills can be developed.
